Project Overview:
Kellogg Square is a high rise apartment building that underwent a major renovation in 2013. The designer incorporated a spacious rooftop patio with numerous amenities. The building owner wanted to provide their residents a modern outdoor living area with ample shade, defined lounge space and a kitchen that residents and guests could enjoy. With many building code challenges, Structureworks was able to create their solutions by designing two custom aluminum shade structures that met their needs and catered to residents year-round.
Challenge:
Kellogg Square Apartments was being redesigned and fully renovated. The designer wanted a rooftop patio with defined areas that would provide shade and the framework for other amenities with a modern sleek look. Structureworks addressed these challenges.
Solution:
Structureworks designed two custom aluminum shade structures that met the primary need for defined areas that would shield residents from the sun and accommodate other conveniences. Working with BDH + Young, we came up with simple solutions.
Benefits:
Residents now enjoy a modern and spacious shaded outdoor patio space provided by the two new structures. Durability and low-maintenance designs allow for frequent use with minimal upkeep that will withstand heavy winds and snow.
