Project Overview
McMurry University, located in Abilene, TX, is a storied private university. The 52-acre campus includes educational facilities, outdoor recreation spaces, and a newly renovated campus center. The new additions to the Garrison Campus Center are a second floor to the building to support the university’s education mission, as well as an increased square footage.
A custom aluminum pergola, manufactured by Structureworks, provides respite from the sun in the outdoor area. This low-maintenance pergola provides architectural interest and was designed with a manually retractable canopy for a variety of shade coverage options. The shade structure also has shade panels that contribute to the aesthetic appeal and shade coverage.
The factory-manufactured aluminum pergola was quickly assembled on-site, saving time and manpower. Plus, its factory finish is highly durable, requiring less maintenance over its lifespan.
