Lackawanna State Park: Custom Commercial Fiberglass Pergola Kits

Project Overview:

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, overseeing Lackawanna State Park, wanted to completely restore the old swimming pool complex. With a complete demolition of the existing pool, bathhouses, concession and ticket booth buildings, they made room for a splash park and all new facilities! Incorporating plenty of shade to this project was important so modern pergolas were integrated at the entrance of the new concession area and bathhouses. Structureworks was able to provide two architecturally pleasing and functional low-maintenance, fiberglass pergolas helping to complete the new look and feel of the Lackawanna State Park Pool.

Challenge:

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources wanted to create weather resistant, low-maintenance shaded areas so park goers could stay cool while waiting in line or heading to the bathhouse. Structureworks addressed the following challenges:

Solution:

Structureworks collaborated with Quandel Construction to come up with some simple solutions to create two custom fiberglass pergolas with flat modern ends helping to define entry areas and concession while keeping kids and parents cool.

Benefits:

Architecturally beautiful and functional, Lackawanna State park now boasts two expansive shade structures providing cover from the scorching sun.  An L-shaped pergola over the entry way keeps visitors cool while waiting in line for park entry and snacks from the concession stand. A few feet away stands another pergola that shelters the bathhouse entrances providing a shaded area for bare feet! These pergolas are made to last with their low-maintenance materials which require minimum upkeep. High traffic areas are now cloaked with custom pergolas providing an abundance of shade for generations!
